Program name: Tertiary Aquarium Experience (Previously General)

Years: Tertiary and adult education groups

Ideal for students studying English, new to Melbourne or visiting SEA LIFE for the experience rather than a learning focus, this program is has more time for exploration and will introduce students to our amazing animals and their habitats. One of our engaging educators will guide students through all exhibits to observe animals in Australian and Antarctic habitats and lead relevant discussions. The tour is made more exciting with a viewing of the Ice-Age 4D cinema, interactive rock pools and an additional animal encounter included within the two hour tour.

Program name: Marine Careers

Years: Tertiary and adult education groups

Students will embark on an underwater journey through SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s 12 amazing themed zones and learn about the diverse range of marine related careers and the tertiary studies, training, and volunteer opportunities which lead to this pathway. This program also includes additional hands-on activities with students given the opportunity to conduct water testing and enjoy a special animal encounter!

The information is consolidated with a guided tour of the back of house facility where students will discover how aquarists care for and monitor the aquarium’s marine collection.

Note: Due to logistics, this program is limited to 30 students per session time.

Program name: Tourism

Years: Tertiary and adult education groups

Students will embark on an underwater journey through SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s amazing themed zones and learn about one of Australia’s premier tourist attractions. Set within a business context, students will understand how this tourism facility incorporates state-of-the-art technology with a highly interactive, educational and entertaining experience. This program will feature a presentation by a SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium representative giving students the opportunity to gain first hand advice from experts in the tourism field.

Years: Tertiary and adult education groups

Students will embark on an underwater journey through SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s amazing themed zones and learn about one of Melbourne's most unique function venues. Set within a business context, students will understand how SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium caters for the most intimate to extravagant event with creative flair and personalised service. This program will feature a presentation by our SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium Event Manager giving students the opportunity to gain first hand advice from an expert in the event management field.
