Old jeans are now pens, the tables were once doors and the umbrellas are made of water bottles!
Everything old is new again as this week we proudly opened the brand new upcycling retail store.
This new concept store is the first of several environmentally conscious stores that Merlin Entertainments PLC are introducing to their SEA LIFE brand.
The new concept store aligns with SEA LIFE’s conservation values, BREED, RESCUE, PROTECT, with a strong focus on minimizing single-use plastic.
The new shop not only features eco-friendly products for sale, the shop itself is also made from repurposed materials.
A lot of our shop fittings are made out of reclaimed wood from local areas such as Preston and Williamstown. With unique fittings such as a beautiful old row boat in the centre of the store that was built 25 years ago by a local Melbourne woman.
We are proud to reuse these discarded materials and give them a second life, reducing the environmental impact of producing new materials.
To help reduce the carbon footprint of SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium the shop is also fitted with environmentally friendly LED lights, as found throughout the aquarium.
Swim in these school holidays to check out the new retails store, get a selfie with Scuba Santa and explore the brand new exhibit, Finding Dory and Friends: The Experience!
