A Long time ago, in an aquarium far, far away… Darth Ray-der, Fish Lord takes on Luke Sea-walker in an attempt to get him to join “The Shark Side”.
Star Wars fans around the world today celebrate international Star Wars Day –May The Fourth Be With You. In honour of the cult-classic day, we took the battle to the bottom of the ocean hosting a Star Wars themed scuba dive.
Darth Ray-der and Luke Sea-walker donned their scuba tanks and fins to dive the 2.2 million litter Oceanarium to the amazement of aquarium visitors in an attempt to raise awareness for the plight of the sharks.
Lightsabers were drawn and a battle erupted, as our residents watched on. Mitch, the three metre long Grey Nurse shark was not intimidated as he had Charlie the Sawfish on his side and the Mega-rays just wanted to get in on the action, coming in for a closer look.
This May the fourth we are inviting everyone to join “The Shark Side”, sharks are often seen as the baddies or painted in a scary light but not all sharks are bad, in fact, most are placid and no threat to humans.
More people die each year from coconuts falling on their head than shark attacks! It’s an usual statistic but it’s true, we are encouraging everyone to visit SEA LIFE Melbourne to meet some sharks up close and learn what amazing creatures they are.
SEA LIFE Melbourne is home to thousands of aquatic animals, including hundreds of colourful fish, penguins and several species of sharks. Book your tickets online / to join “The Shark Side”!
