What time does SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium open?

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is open from 9:30am to 6:00pm every day, with last admissions 1 hour prior to closing time.

How long does a visit to SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium take?

We recommend that you give yourself about 2 hours to explore the aquarium.

What is included in the general admission price?

Journey through our 12 themed zones, to admire over 10,000 creatures that call Sea Life Melbourne home including our feathery Sun-Antarctic penguins, our majestic seahorses and our resident croc Pinjarra!

While you’re here; have a go at creating your very own sea creature and watch it come to life in our huge nine-metre virtual ART aquarium. Also, be sure NOT to miss our Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4D cinema experience all included in your admission.

What age is classed as a child at SEA LIFE Melbourne?

Children are considered 4 – 15 years. Under 4’s are free to enter the attraction.

Please note: Children (15 years and under) cannot enter Sea Life Melbourne without adult (16+) accompaniment.

What is considered Concession?

Concession applies to the following Australian government issued cards;
- Students (International cards accepted)
- Healthcare
- Pension
- Senior Citizen (New Zealand SuperGold cards accepted)

I hold a carer’s/companion card, what does this entitle me to?

Guests who hold a government issued Companion or We Care card are entitled to 1 free of charge general admission for an accompanying carer. This ticket is redeemable from the ticketing staff on site at Sea Life Melbourne Upon presentation of a valid card.

I have a discount coupon, can I book this online/use the prepaid queue line?

No, all discount offers and promotions are only redeemable from our ticketing staff via the general admissions queue line at SEA LIFE Melbourne. Pleae Be sure to read the promotional offers terms and conditions for ticket eligibility. 

Why should I pre book my tickets online?

Booking online is the only way to guarantee entry (tickets are limited)!

Online Saver tickets are always discounted by at least 10% meaning you ALWAYS save when you buy tickets on the SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium website. Book online more than 24 hours in advance to get the best prices and priority entry.

Please note: Online tickets cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount offers!

What do the timeslots mean? Can I stay longer than 1 ½ hours?

When purchasing Online Saver tickets, select an arrival timeslot for your visit day. Once inside Sea Life Melbourne, you may stay as long as you like.

What if I am unsure of when I want to visit?

Book an online Flexi ticket and enter when it suits you. Flexi tickets are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase and entitle single entry into SEA LIFE Melbourne.

Flexi tickets make for a great gift so why not buy for a friend or family member! Personalise each ticket with the ticket holders’ name!

Can I buy a ticket for multiple visits?

Can I renew my Annual Pass online?

Yes, all our members who hold annual pass cards with a season pass ID are eligible for our discounted renewal rates ONLINE. Simply enter your existing Season Pass ID number at the checkout to redeem our exclusive members rates!

Can I use my Sea Life Melbourne pass at other SEA LIFE Attractions?

No, Your Sea Life Melbourne pass only entitles entry into our Melbourne Attraction. Check out our Premium Merlin Annual pass for access to our 11 attractions across Australia and New Zealand.

Is there parking available?

While there is no public car parking at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, there are several public car parking facilities available only a short walk away.

Visitors parking at 474 Flinders Street can collect a rebate ticket from our front desk which can be redeemed for $11 flat rate parking Monday to Friday, and $7 flat rate parking on Saturday and Sunday.

Limited short term bus parks are available on the Flinders Street side of the aquarium for group drop-off and pick-ups.

Is SEA LIFE Melbourne completely undercover?

Yes, SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is completely undercover so even if it is raining you can still have a fantastic time! We are also completely air conditioned so SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium is the perfect place to visit when it's hot.

Do you have wheelchairs and strollers for hire?

Yes, wheelchairs and strollers may be borrowed from the admissions area if required. Please note that wheelchairs and strollers are on a first come, first served basis, and cannot be booked or reserved ahead of time. You will be required to leave your ID behind for the duration of the hire while the wheelchair is in use.

SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium provides wheelchair and pram users full access to all exhibits. Each floor of the aquarium is accessible via either a lift or ramp.

Is there Locker Hire available??

Yes, located in the Admissions foyer lockers can be hired to store your shopping bags, loose items or large luggage items etc. We have small and large sized lockers that can be hired starting from $4. Please note: all lockers are coin operated.

Can I bring food inside the Aquarium?

SEA LIFE Melbourne does not prohibit food items to be bought inside the aquarium, however we do reserve the rights of our cafeteria seating for customers purchasing items from our food outlets.
