Listed below are the Early Childhood programs currently offered by SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium.
(Early childhood and 4-5 years)
The Watery Wonders program gives Early Childhood students the opportunity to explore the underwater world of SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium in a safe indoor environment. We provide the choice of one of the options below to suit your particular group’s requirements.
The session involves 45 minutes of play-based activities in our education room with one of our educators, where they are encouraged to role-play, create and imagine. They then embark on a 75 minute guided tour around the aquarium, including the opportunity to see penguins, sharks, stingrays and the crocodile as well as the chance to interact with live animals in our rockpool exhibit.
The entire session involves embarking on a 2 hour guided tour around the aquarium with one of our educators, including the opportunity to see all of the 12 amazing habitat zones. Throughout the journey, there are opportunities for dress ups, story-telling, artefact handling as well as the chance to interact with live animals in our rockpool exhibit.
Groups are encouraged to arrive to the aquarium 15 minutes early to ensure students have the chance to have a snack before beginning the program.
Please note the following:
- Our educators will ensure students are taken to the toilets throughout the program
- The teacher-to-student free of charge ratio of 1:4 per group should be adhered to
- If additional adults are attending they will be able to enter the Aquarium at the discounted rate of $19.50 plus GST, as long as they are included in the group booking numbers and are checked in with the group
- We strongly recommend that if additional adults are attending that this does not exceed a 1:3 ratio due to OH&S regulations
