The talented musicians of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra made a splash last night in the Fish Bowl, treating the sharks, stingrays and hundreds of amazing underwater animals to an incredible performance of Schubert’s Trout Quintet.
Set amongst the enchanting underwater surroundings of SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium’s 2.2 million litre Oceanarium, hundreds of guests enjoyed the free Secret Symphony performance, showcasing an ensemble of five MSO musicians (violin, viola, cello, double base and piano), featuring both the 2009 and 2013 Australian Young Performer of the Year winners.
Last night’s performance was the first instalment of the MSO Secret Symphony concert series, which provides Melburnians with an exciting, unusual and innovative opportunity to experience music outside its traditional quarters.
The Fish Bowl is just one of many spectacular event spaces at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium, with no other venue delivering such a unique and exquisite underwater backdrop.
