Students are introduced to the incredible range of reproductive strategies employed by marine animals. Specific examples include intra-uterine cannibalism in Grey Nurse Sharks, ‘Big Bang Reproduction’ in cuttlefish and the nesting rituals of Gentoo Penguins. Teachers can elect a Reproduction or Gas Exchange focus.

Using specific examples from Melbourne Aquarium, this program focuses on common ecosystems by analysing both living and non-living components and the interactions between them. Remediation of local marine and freshwater environments and animal repatriation programs are discussed.

General Program
This fun, flexible and relaxed program gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Aquarium’s diverse worlds. Participants can enjoy a variety of aquarium presentations from Meet the Keeper presentations to Dive Feeds. Furthermore, the Tailored General Program can cater for specific concepts and content to be covered.
Self-guided Journey
Teachers may elect to tour Melbourne Aquarium at their own pace focusing on areas of their choice.
